Two years on from his tragic death, Lea Michele, the former girlfriend and co-star of Cory Monteith, took to Twitter yesterday to share a poignant message with her fans, dedicated to the actor who had played Glee‘s Finn Hudson since 2009.

Fans took to social media to remember the actor and the hashtag #2YearsWithoutCory on Twitter trended worldwide. It seemed like a touching tribute felt around the world from fans and friends.
31-year-old Monteith, who had battled with substance abuse in the past, died of an overdose in a Vancouver hotel with the official cause of death later revealed to be ‘mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol.’
Despite the tragedy of his death, Lea has said in the past that she only has happy memories of Monteith, telling Seventeen magazine last year:
“Cory made me feel like a queen every day. From the minute he said, ‘I’m your boyfriend,’ I loved every day, and I thank him for being the best boyfriend and making me feel so beautiful.”
