Lea Michele regularly has the opportunity to showcase her vocal talents each week as Rachel Berry on Fox’s Glee. Now she’s leaving behind her Broadway covers and striking out on her own with her debut album, Louder.
At the end of November, Michele announced the title of her album, and that “Cannonball” would be the first single released from the album and that it would be released, for those who preorder Louder, on December 10.
Then, earlier this week, she took to Instagram to reveal the album’s track list. Now in the lead up to the preorder today, Michele has again taken to Twitter for the final countdown, offering fans some gifts along the way.
The first was the unlocking of the album cover by tweeting #LeaMicheleLouder 10,000 times. This was achieved within two hours from the initial call:

However, as well as the album cover, fans were able to get a sneak peek of “Cannonball”.

Once Louder was available for preorder, fans were to receive a further treat… the actual release of “Cannonball”. The pop song was written by Australian hitmaker, Sia. Michele publicly thanked her for her efforts today, saying “@Sia thank you for this beautiful song. It’s given me such strength. I hope you all love it and that it empowers you the way it did for me!” Michele will perform the song live when she stops by the Ellen show on Thursday December 12.
“Cannonball” is available for download now on iTunes.
Louder is now available for preorder and is expected to be released March 3, 2014.
