You got that, everyone? No? Let’s see….
Lena Dunham, creator and star of HBO’s hit series Girls, has criticized Shia LaBeouf over his recent act of hiring a skywriter to give a lackluster apology to Daniel Clowes – the writer LeBeouf was accused of plagiarizing. The result? A minor feud breaking out via Twitter between Dunham and LaBeouf.
LaBeouf has recently encountered criticism (and potential legal trouble) over his short film, HowardCantor.com.  It was revealed to be an almost word-for-word copy of a graphic novel titled Justin M. Damiano, which was penned by Ghost World cartoonist Daniel Clowes. After his plagiarism was exposed, LaBeouf went on to give an array of apologies over Twitter, which caused more trouble. It was revealed one of the apologies was lifted directly from a 2012 apology by British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. LaBeouf attempted a final apology to Clowes, which he released by hiring a skywriter to write the words “I’m Sorry Daniel Clowes.” This stunt brought considerable attention to LaBeouf, and Lena Dunham has been one of many people to criticize him for it.
Dunham wrote on Twitter:

LaBeouf, choosing to indirectly reply to the criticism, tweeted:

Dunham, taking LaBeouf’s comments in stride, jokingly tweeted:

Louis Stevens being LeBeouf’s memorable character on the classic TV series Even Stevens. She followed up, in her usual comedic style, with one last zinger:
