I posted an article about the reasons why Briana Renée should get divorced. Was I being too harsh on the star’s love life? While the Little Women: LA recaps replay an unforgiving point of view of her marriage to Matt Grundhoffer, who am I to judge? If she, Grundhoffer, and their children are happy, then they should stay together. The notion seems simple enough, but love’s too heavy to be weighed on a scale, and too colorful to be boxed into a black-and-white list of the pros and cons.

However, abuse will never be okay. Grundhoffer’s cheated on his pregnant wife multiple times, shouted slurs at her friends, and dissed her loved ones. Even though reality television’s about as real as Kim Kardashian’s butt, producers lack the magic to turn the husband and father into a puppet. He’s a Pinocchio all on his own.

I’ll play devil’s advocate, though.

I’ve made horrible choices, terrible mistakes, and shitty decisions, so I’m no different than Grundhoffer. We both have a messy rap sheet, but he gets flack because he’s in the public eye. His faults are easily consumed and digested because he’s now a part of bad cable’s elite. Don’t get me wrong, though. Like myself, he may have good reasons for his self-proclaimed sex addiction and alcoholism (e.g. his trauma), but he’ll never have a good excuse for his behavior. He’ll have to own up to his issues, handle his business, and fight for his family. His beautiful wife, aka Bonnie, gave birth to their firstborn Maverick, but he’s already a parent. He has a total of four children who need him, and Renée needs him, too.

Grundhoffer has a messy past, but his past will never determine his future. He has the love, passion, and care inside of him, but he’s holding back. Realize your worth, Matt.
