Creating delicious edible life-size sculptures of celebrities seems to be in the norm these days. From Jennifer Lawrence to Jamie Dornan, who had cake versions of themselves created.
The next one to follow in this dubious honor is Academy Award nominated actor, Benedict Cumberbatch! But no , he won’t have a pastry doppelganger, because his sculpture is made entirely out of chocolate.
The idea for a celebrity chocolate statue is in line with the celebration of the launch of a brand new drama channel on the on demand service of UKTV, UKTVPlay. But what does Benedict Cumberbatch have to do with this new service? Is he the endorser, is he an actor in one of the shows featured?
Well as it turns out, it was more of a lady’s choice, 2,000 women were asked who they think is the tastiest man on TV drama.
Cumberbatch won the poll, and thus a team of eight people were tasked to create a life-sized statue of the actoe, made out of Belgian milk chocolate. It took 250 hours for them to finish the delectable masterpiece.
The chocolate statue was put on display at London’s Westfield Stratford City Shopping Center on April 3rd.
