Lifetime has announced an upcoming movie that will feature the singer Aaliyah’s controversial relationship with alleged former husband, R Kelly.
According to Page Six, the movie will feature details of the secret marriage that may have occurred between the 15 year old songstress and a much older R Kelly.
Although both denied the claims, there is a marriage certificate in existence. Rumors still circulate that young Aaliyah’s parents annulled the marriage because of her age.
The film, which stars Zendaya, of Disney fame, will show Aaliyah’s life from age 10 until she died in a plane crash at 22.
Debra Martin Chase, executive producer of the movie, said, “Aaliyah’s personal and professional relationship with R Kelly will be explored with care in the film as we set out to depict her life with the utmost respect.”
Though fans might be happy to see this film, Aaliyah’s family is not. They have vowed to stop all production of the film as Lifetime reportedly failed to contact them concerning it.
