Hey Drop Dead Diva fans, you’re in for a very nice surprise. Lifetime has decided to renew this comedic drama for a sixth season. The show is set to come back in 2014 for a 13-episode run.
Following the cancellation of the show after the fourth season, a cost-effective deal was put into effect to put the show back on air. Drop Dead Diva creator, Josh Berman, says that the fans “saved the show”.
That’s a job well done to Diva fans everywhere.
The show focuses on a model who suddenly dies in a motel and winds up in the body of a brilliant plus-size lawyer. It stars Brooke Elliot as Jane Bingum, the infamous lawyer/diva, along with Margaret Cho, Jackson Hurst, Kate Levering, April Bowlby, and Justin Deeley.
This well done comedy centered around a court room, with some relationships and drama all over, is definitely a keeper for Lifetime and viewers everywhere for its relatable yet always funny episodes.
The season five finale for Drop Dead Diva is set to air November 5th. The show currently airs 9pm ET/PT on Sunday nights.
