Coming out is never easy.
…Or is it?
Well, in the case of Reddit user Thecly, it certainly was.
He gave his younger brother his user name because he wanted to see a particular thread, as evidenced by his words:
“To give you some background I gave him my reddit username cause he wanted to see a discussion I was in. Anyways, I forgot that I have posted to gaybros with it. This convo is what followed. It seems he’s cool with it. Just like I hoped he would be.
Edit: I’m 24 and he is 21.”
This text conversation subsequently occurred:
I don’t know about you, but that incredibly blasé last text made me burst out laughing. His younger brother seemed to be in good spirits too, because he later posted this to Reddit:
“He’s a pretty nice guy and I love him to death, ain’t nothin gonna change that. ;)”
Aww. Look at that. Unconditional, genuine brotherly love. And here I wasexpecting something more Cain and Abel.
With more reactions like that, perhaps more people wouldn’t be afraid to reveal their true self and live a life free of inhibitions over such trivialities.
