Long-Standing Aladdin Fan Theory Is Confirmed

Remember the peddler at the beginning of Aladdin? You know, the one trying to sell lamps who everyone thought was the Genie in disguise? Well, this is one fan theory that can now be filed under CORRECT.

Directors John Musker and Ron Clements were interviewed by E! News when Clements announced “That’s true!” He also added that the reveal of the Genie as the peddler was originally going to be shown at the end of the movie but that “story changes and some editing” meant the reveal was lost.

Aladdin fans had collected evidence for this theory, pointing out that the brilliant Robin Williams had voiced both characters and that, like the Genie, the peddler only had four fingers on each hand.

This latest Aladdin confirmation follows the news that many other fan theories regarding Harry Potter, Tarzan and Frozen have also been revealed as correct.
