Lorde Drops Video For Hunger Games Single, “Yellow Flicker Beat”

Lorde put together the soundtrack of Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and the music video for her own single, “Yellow Flicker Beat”, has now arrived.

After making one hell of a debut with her smash single, “Royals” from her massive record, Pure Heroine, Lorde has gained herself quite a bit of respect. At least, enough to get her to helm the Mockingjay: Part 1 soundtrack. The first sample from it, her very own “Yellow Flicker Beat,” now has a video to go with it.

The visuals surprisingly don’t work as a promotional clip for the film, being an actual music video instead. In fact, there is not the slightest bit of Hunger Games in it! Instead, Lorde is seen in various places, rocking different styles and outfits throughout. It’s all rather eventless, but she does her best to express the feelings in the lyrics with motion. Not to mention how good she looks throughout, especially when trying the different looks.

“Yellow Flicker Beat” served as the first offering from the soundtrack of Mockingjay. Other artists contributing to the film’s soundtrack include Charli XCX, Miguel, Major Lazer, Grace Jones, Stromae and the latest addition, Ariana Grande. The record is expected to drop in its entirety soon enough, on November 17.
