Lorde is more than just some any teenage girl living out a pop fantasy. She’s a voice in this generation.

The “Royals” and “Team” singer is famous for calling out publications – as she recently did to defend her and friend rapper, Iggy Azalea, over accusations made by Complex magazine. She’s even admitted her own flaws when she opened up about her acne being photo-shopped out of a promotional pic.

But now she’s speaking up about hersafety.

She then followed by posting a link to “him” – Simon Runting’s facebook. Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time the kiwi photographer has appeared in the news. It was last October that Rihanna took to Instagram to pronounce her hate for him, claiming, “[She]  hate[s] these ni–az more than the Nazi.” Runting had posted a pic of Rihanna, wrapped in a towel on her hotel balcony.

Lorde realizes she’s in the spotlight, as she tweeted, “i understand that this comes with the territory. i do not understand why I should be complacent.” Then she absolutely nails it by saying that, “this should not be an accepted standard for young women or anyone in this industry.” Being stalked to the point of feeling unsafe is never acceptable.
