Lucy & La Mer Shares Her “Ooh La La” Video

“I hope this song gives you a boost of energy to feel a little bit better, and a little more confident today.”

At a time when our mental health and taking care of it has perhaps never been more important, the new single from Lucy & La Mer – AKA Lucy LaForge, titled “Ooh La La”, the video for which PopWapped are delighted to premiere, continues her “tradition” of sharing songs that call for and support mental and emotional wellbeing, self-empowerment and self-acceptance.

Having come out in 2018 and as an artist who is “proud of who and what she is”, Lucy has earned herself a considerable following around the world, and has so far been featured in and championed by the likes of The Huffington Post, The LA Times and Pride. Her music has also been used in commercials by huge companies including Disney and Dove.

Lucy says of her reasons as to wanting to write “Ooh La La” and the story behind it: “I wanted to create an empowering anthem for anyone who is struggling to feel like their true, powerful, authentic self. This past year was difficult, and many people are struggling with their mental health. We’ve all been handling these huge changes in our own way. For me, being isolated lead to increased anxiety and depression. I channelled my feelings and lack of control into my song-writing, to create the feelings I wanted to experience. To give myself affirmations of how I want to feel.”

She goes on to add that: “It’s been a year of struggle, but also of self-reflection. I hope this song gives people the encouragement to shake off their doubts and fears and move forward without anything holding them back. May is mental health awareness month, and if anything, I hope this song gives you a boost of energy to feel a little bit better, and a little more confident today.”
