Marcia Cross, best known for her work as Bree Van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives, has been added to the cast of the new FOX pilot Fatrick. Cross will be playing the main character’s mother, Arlene, and will appear in both flashbacks and present day scenes.

Fatrick comes from creator Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23, Nahnatchka Khan , and the pilot will be directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants). It’s the story of a 30-something man named Patrick who, as an adolescent was overweight and not so fondly regarded as “Fatrick.” The show will depict his past and present as he attempts to come to terms with his former years of abuse.

Marcia Cross will be playing the part of Patrick’s nutritionist mother who is favours her daughter over the larger Patrick.
