Courtesy of KontrolMag.comWolf Of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie is reportedly in talks to star in the live action adaptation of the extremely popular manga and anime series Ghost in the Shell, according to sources at The Wrap.
The Masamune Shirow manga centers on a special-operations task force comprised of former officers and detectives dealing with cyber crimes in a futuristic and technology-dependent world.
The DreamWorks film is also said to have Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Saunders attached to direct, with Avi Arad and Steven Paul set to produce the live action adaptation and a script penned by Bill Wheeler.
A few anime adaptations have been discussed in the past few years, including a film for the acclaimed English anime series Cowboy Bebop and HBO’s rumored development of the series Monster.
Hopefully this opens the door so animes can receive the live action treatment to spread the unique storytelling they’ve achieved to a broader audience.
