If you’re a fan of Mark Ruffalo, you’re probably aware that he is a strong advocate for greener living and climate change awareness. Now it seems the actor wants to bring some of his personal ideals to the big screen. How, you ask? By going green – literally!

At Sundance Film Festival to support his film Infinitely Polar Bear, Ruffalo was asked about his thoughts on a potential Avengers spinoff featuring his character, Bruce Banner, aka The Incredible Hulk. His response was that, should there be any kind of spinoff, he would like the plot to relate to real-life issues in sustainability.

In talking with Total Film, Ruffalo said, “As artists we have an ability to reach a lot of people in a deep way, and we have a responsibility…What we have to do as storytellers is to take science and make it relatable…I think we have to tell the story of the positive and what we’re going to try to do. Give them alternatives but don’t make it a polemic.”

However what about his role as part of the Avengers?

“I’m in The Avengers, but if you took my screen time it would come to about ten minutes, along with the 12 other people I’m sharing the screen with, so my input’s kind of limited on that…But if we get to a standalone Hulk movie, I’ll have a much better chance to do that. I’m just learning now how to find my voice and bring it into the studio world.”

Any kind of Hulk-centric Avengers spinoff sounds good to us – especially one with such a thoughtful message! What do you think?
