Indestructible Hulk writer Mark Waid talked about the possibility of a Hulk movie starring Mark Ruffalo, calling Ruffalo the “breakaway star” of The Avengers.
“Oh, please, yes! He’s tailor made for a film adventure. Wasn’t he the breakaway star of The Avengers? He was in my theatre, I’ll tell you that!” Waid told Newsarama.
After seeing Bruce Banner/Hulk in last year’s summer hit The Avengers, we got to see Banner in the post-credits of Iron Man 3 before we see him and his counterpart the Hulk once more in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“[Ruffalo is] spot-on. I love how he’s more driven than tormented, and the Bruce Banner/Tony Stark bromance is positively inspirational” Waid said.
Even though there is a lot of material to make a new Hulk film, after the previous Hulk movies and television series, it would be hard to fight against people’s preconceived notion of a new movie, to which Waid answered: “Hulk smash puny preconceptions”.
Waid’s current project is Marvel Comics’ Indestructible Hulk with artist Matteo Scalera.
