With some of the past judges of the glee competitions, it’s a wonder that glee club is not cooler at McKinley High. In previous competitions, the kids from New Directions have performed for Olivia Newton-John, Josh Groban, Lindsay Lohan, and Perez Hilton. Now they can add an Oscar-winner to the list.
Marlee Matlin, who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the 1986 film, Children of a Lesser God, will star in the upcoming Nationals episode of the Fox dramedy. Matlin will be playing herself as a judge at the competition.

She has been on set filming this week as she posted this adorable picture of herself with cast regulars, Chord Overstreet (Sam) and Darren Criss (Blaine) along with fellow guest star Skylar Astin (rival glee club, Throat Explosion’s Jean-Baptiste).

Though making her name in film, Matlin is no stranger to television playing fan-favourite roles in hit shows, The West Wing and Switched at Birth.
Glee’s Nationals episode, “City of Angels” will air in the spring.
