On October 21, 2015, fans of the beloved Back to The Future trilogy celebrated the day to which lead character Marty McFly time traveled from ‘present day’ 1985. Of course, as it turns out, the ‘future’ is not really how the movie thought it would be, but how would the characters actually react to the world that we have now — with no flying cars or hoverboards or even dehydrated pizza?

Enter Jimmy Kimmel:

In commemoration of that magical movie moment, the talk show host decided to bring the main stars of Back to The Future to his show to reenact Doc Brown and Marty’s time travel to the real October 21, 2015!

The duo enter the stage aboard the signature DeLorean, and Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd step out as their characters, Marty McFly and Doc Brown. “Great Scott!” Lloyd bellowed his iconic phrase amidst the audience’s thunderous applause.

Doc Brown was elated with the smart phone — that is, until he found out why people use it.
