As if the feature film set to hit theatres on August 1, 2014 wasn’t enough, and insider has informed Comic Book Movie that Marvel is looking to expand Guardians of the Galaxy into the cartoon realm.
The story revolves around an American pilot named Peter Quill who quickly becomes wanted for stealing an orb from a villain known as Ronan. As he’s being hunted down, he teams up with a group of misfits that include Gamora, Rocket, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot. With their help he is able to discover the power of the orb and uses it to defend the galaxy.
The feature film is being directed by James Gunn and the cast will be made up of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Chris Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace and Karen Gillan. There’s currently no official word as to when the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon will be released.
