Not happy with the casting announcement for the upcoming movie version of EL James’ 50 Shades of Grey, fans started a petition to get Matt Bomer to replace Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey.
A petition that Bomer has seen and is “touched” by; “I’m so grateful for the fans and touched,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
However, he sang praises for Hunnam and suggested he would do the role justice. “I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota [Johnson],” he added.
Both Hunnam and Johnson were announced to be playing Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively, this week.
The movie, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, is set to premier August 1, 2014.
Meanwhile Matt Bomer is busy with his White Collar, which returns to USA on October 17 for its fifth season.
