Matthew McConaughey Says It’s Time To Embrace President Trump

President Trump has not been in office for very long, but he’s been surrounded by controversy since his campaign. In his short time in office, he’s already signed multiple Executive Orders that have been both loved and hated by Americans. Most of Hollywood’s celebrities have fought against President Trump and continue to voice concerns over his actions, but one of our favorites has spoken differently. Matthew McConaughey was being interviewed by BBC’s Andrew Marr when he said that it was time for Hollywood to embrace Trump’s Presidency and work with him to a constructive end. McConaughey’s exact words, seen in the interview above, were, “The cultural elite of America should give [Trump] a break. Well, they don’t have a choice now. He’s our president. And it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time we’ve ever had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact and be constructive with him over the next four years.” His commentary has been both berated and embraced since the story broke. McConaughey has been careful to stay out of the political commentary, but he has made an excellent point with what he has said. Which ever side you support, it is time to work together and see what President Trump actually does because very few politicians follow through with their campaign promises.

McConaughey has his own project to focus on with his Just Keep Livin Foundation. He organized this group to help high schoolers have the tools necessary to make good choices for their futures. McConaughey has organized a really great foundation which will really help out a lot of kids as they grow into being decision makers for their generation.
