Meghan Trainor may be an international, chart-topping pop-star, but her bank account looks a lot more like mine than Beyoncé’s.
According to Billboard, Trainor”s first full-length album, Title, earned the “biggest debut for a female pop act’s first full-length album in over five years.” But in a recent interview with the Daily Star, Trainor opened up about the all the money she’s not making despite her success.
“People think I must be rich but I’m not. I haven’t been able to make a big purchase yet but I’m working on it.”
With chart-topping singles like “All About That Bass” and “Lips Are Movin,” and a debut album that skyrocketed to the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200… we just assumed Trainor would be rolling around in money.
She kept it real with the Daily Star, confessing that she hasn’t actually made any money yet and that, “They say I will get a big fat check after nine months which will be in April so I’m hoping that’s right.”
