Courtesy of VarietyThings are getting pretty serious with CBS’ brand-new, DC-based drama, Supergirl. After casting the main star, Melissa Benoist, as Kara, the show seems to have got hands on Mehcad Brooks, to play the role of James Olsen.
You’re probably familiar with Mehcad Brooks from his former role in True Blood. The actor played Eggs Talley, Tara Thornton’s boyfriend, for fourteen episodes. Now he’s called to play one of DC’s well-known figures in Supergirl, that of Jimmy Olsen. It turns out Superman’s pal works as a photographer and shares a workplace with Kara at CatCo. Apparently, the guy is living in National City this time around for yet unknown reasons. It is after all pretty soon to find out everything about the show, but more details should be on the way.
CBS’s Supergirl will follow the story of Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin who arrived on Earth from Krypton and became Kara Danvers, hiding her true identity and powers. Of course, she does eventually come to terms with her hero nature and makes use of her gifts for the greater good.
