Despite the Spice Girl’s songs often being about never ending friendships, two girls in the group had an unfriendly relationship early on in their career.
Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C or Sporty Spice, recently revealed that before the girls released their first hit single Wannabe, she almost got booted out of the group because of a fight with Victoria Beckham.
It happened at the 1996 Brit Awards, when they all “got a bit tipsy,” she told Daily Star. ”By the end I was really pissed and told Victoria to f*ck off. It was so over-dramatised but it really upset her.” Posh was so upset that she went to their management and told them to kick Melanie out of the group!
Luckily though, Mel and Victoria eventually made up after Mel had a sit down talk with management and the group went on to win numerous awards.
“I was called in by management and they threatened to kick me out of the group due to my behaviour. I can’t remember why we were even arguing now but I can remember telling her to ‘F’ off’.”
