A new preview of Disney’s Into The Woods has been released. The scene gives us a glimpse of the musical performance by Meryl Streep’s character.

The Witch, Streep’s character, is given an original song. According to Attitude Magazine, there is already talk of an Oscar nomination next year.

The well-known musical debuted in San Diego and went on to open on Broadway on November 5, 1987. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Into The Woods won several Tony Awards. They included Best Score, Best Book and Best Actress in a Musical.

The plot itself combines many Brothers Grimm fairy tales. It follows a childless baker and his wife as they journey on a quest to begin a family. Along the way, they interact with several of the Brothers Grimm characters as they try to reverse an infertility spell cast upon them by The Witch.

The musical also stars Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt and Christine Baranski.

Into The Woods will have a Christmas release in the US and a UK release of January 9, 2015.
