Well, she’s Meryl freaking Streep, so probably.
Disney has released its first poster for the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of Into the Woods, and it features none other than Meryl Streep as The Witch!
The film is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Nine) taken from the Sondheim musical which features numerous Brothers Grimm fairytales.
The debut trailer for the film was met with a bout of excitement, but also worry from diehard fans who noticed ZERO singing was featured.
When speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director Marshall said:
I don’t think people will be remotely ready to hear [Meryl Streep] sing this material.
The film also stars Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine and the always changeable Johnny Depp as The Wolf.
Into the Woods opens Christmas Day.
