Michael Sam is heading into his NFL career with his boyfriend proudly by his side.
On May 10th, Sam made history as the NFL’s first openly gay draft pick. After receiving the news by phone that he had been drafted into the St. Louis Rams, an emotional Sam shared tears, hugs, and several tender kisses with his partner, all captured on camera by the sports network ESPN.

Congratulations and much success to Michael, and kudos to ESPN for broadcasting the beautiful exchange. Maybe now the world of professional sports will do more to break down stereotypes and create an atmosphere where all gay athletes can be out and feel accepted and supported.
