It looks as though Leslie Knope will be meeting another idol of hers. First Lady Michelle Obama will be heading to Parks and Recreation for a special episode, currently set to air on April 24.
Pawnee has a not-so-stellar reputation of having an obese populace, so it’s safe to assume that the First Lady will be visiting to promote good health and exercise, something she is very passionate about. In fact, her appearance is set to include a segment about her “Let’s Move” initiative.
Parks and Recreation is known for incorporating politicians from the national level into their smaller world. Michelle joins John McCain, New Gingrich, and current Vice President Joe Biden on the list of real-life politicians who have guest starred on the show.
Michelle has made exercise a priority during her tenure as First Lady in an effort to make America healthier. Between “Play 60” and “Let’s Move,” hopefully she’ll be able to get the message across to the children of Pawnee to put down that Sweetums chocolate bar and go play outside.
Are you excited to see the First Lady on Parks and Rec? Let us know in the comments!
