Skylar Grey is the latest celebrity to get press for slamming Miley Cyrus for her, now, infamous performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards, which took place over two weeks ago.

Miley caused a stir at the VMA’s last month when she twerked with Robin Thicke and danced suggestively with a foam finger while wearing a nude coloured bikini during “Blurred Lines”.

While the “We Need A Doctor” singer was watching the show live, she tweeted, “Keep ur tongue in your mouth @MileyCyrus and put some clothes on…. #VMA”. However, Miley has only just recently (the evening of Sept. 5th) replied to Grey’s tweet, saying,” Says the one deep throating their moon man” and including a picture of Grey with her Moon man award in her mouth.

Grey is yet to reply to Miley’s tweet but other artists like Pharrell Williams have defended Miley’s actions. Williams who worked on her new LP Bangerz told MTV News UK, “I commend anybody that unzips and bares what they’re thinking to the world, cleared for judgement-especially the way she did it, it’s so smart dude.”

Miley addressed the performance in an interview, revealing that she and Thicke wanted their performance to “make history”. Not long after the performance, the “We Can’t Stop” singer told MTV News,” What’s amazing is I think now, we’re three days later and people are still talking about it. They’re over thinking it. You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn’t even think about it ‘cause that’s just me. I don’t pay attention to the negative because I’ve seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?”

Whether Miley and Thicke have made history is yet to be seen. However, since it’s now almost two weeks since the awards and the performance is still being talked about, they’ve certainly made an impact.
