December 2015 is shaping up to be an action packed month. A week after the release date for Star Wars Episode VII was announced, we have been given a release date of Christmas Day 2015 for Mission Impossible 5, Digital Spy reports.

Tom Cruise will be reprising his role as Ethan Hunt in addition to producing the film with J J Abrams and Skydance Productions chief David Ellison. Drew Pearce, who co-wrote Iron Man 3, wrote the script and Christopher McQuarrie, who most recently directed Jack Reacher, will be directing.

It is not confirmed if Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, or Paula Patton will be reprising their Ghost Protocol roles.

Abrams is also set to direct Star Wars.
