One of the biggest announcements that came out of this year’s San Diego Comic Con was 2015’s Superman vs. Batman film.

Many fans were wondering if actor Christian Bale would reprise the role of Batman for the sequel.

While he was promoting the final chapter in the Christopher Nolan blockbuster series, the Academy Award-winning actor stated that he would not be stepping into the batcave again any time soon.

“It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another,” Bale said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.”

However, Warner Bros is not giving up without a fight as the movie studio has offered to shell out a sum of $50-60 million dollars to have him reprise the role in the impending summer blockbuster.

But if they are unable to secure their choice Batman, they could easily get a stellar Lex Luthor.

IGN received word that Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston is interested in playing Superman’s arch-foe.

“Give me a call,” said the actor. “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”

Superman/Batman is expected to hit theatres during summer 2015.
