The guest stars just keep on coming for the upcoming fifth season of NBC’s Community, with three more names added to the list today.
Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz will guest star in one episode playing Greendale Community College student Preston Koogler. Koogler is Greendale’s resident party animal and is prepared to butt heads with any authority figure who attempts to stand between him and a good time. (Uh oh, Dean Pelton!)
The casting news was originally reported by Ken Jeong, when he tweeted this image of himself as Ben/Kevin Chang and Hurwitz on set recently.
While it may seem like an odd thing for Hurwitz to be seen in front of the camera, it is in fact a return-the-favour type situation as Community creator Dan Harmon made a cameo in the fourth season of Arrested Development.
Also making guest starring appearances are Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. The guys who gave us Adult Swim’s Tim and Eric Show, will play Roger and Billly; associates of Dean Pelton who are involved in the Dean’s grand plans for Greendale.
Hurwitz, Heidecker and Wareheim are the latest additions to the Greendale season five guest star family. A group that already includes Jonathan Banks, John Oliver, Rob Corddry, Brie Larson, Nathan Fillion, Robert Patrick, Paget Brewster, Kumail Nanjiani, Walter Goggins and Katie Leclerc.
