Mother Responds To Birthday Invite With Homophobia

NULL

Robert Dominic Ventre II

Staff Writer

In an age where homophobia is finally recognized as a sign of poor character, the human race still finds itself saddled with people like Beth.

Beth is a resident of Baldwin, New York, and her son, Tommy, was recently given a birthday invitation from his friend Sophia. Instead of obliging or politely declining, Beth chose to scrawl a hateful, anti-gay diatribe on the invitation itself, sending it back to Sophia and her two fathers, who raise the seven-year-old girl together as a couple.

The message reads as follows:

“Tommy will NOT attend. I do not beleive in what you do and will not subject my innocent son to your ‘lifestyle,’ She went on to bemoan the little girl’s fate (ironically, considering she has a child of her own) “I’m sorry Sophia has to grow up this way.”

The written misspelling may have tipped you off, but if you had any further doubts about whether or not Beth is the sort of idiot that is utterly incapable of keeping up with the times, allow us to dispel them for you:

“If you have an issue or need to speak to me

516-362-1357

.”

Above is our dear Beth’s home phone number, which has undoubtedly gotten busier as of late. Sophia’s fathers sent pictures of both the invitation and Beth’s response to Steve and Leeana, morning Djs at local Long Island radio station K98.3. As Beth had stated she would be happy to speak with anyone who had problems with her opinions, the station felt no qualms about posting her number for the entire world to see.

It’s hard enough to believe that this frame of mind still exists in a first-world nation which has finally begun to embrace homosexuality as something to be celebrated instead of abhorred.

But it’s even harder to believe that a grown woman, presumably aware of computers and the Internet, was daft enough to give out her home phone number immediately after declaring herself to be a hateful, obstinate, and detestable old crow.

No word so far as to how her actions have affected her personal life, but let’s assume for the sake of our sanity that she will soon come to regret her own insufferable behavior.

We’re sorry, Tommy, that you have to grow up underneath Beth’s roof – please do not turn out like her.

We also wish Sophia a happy birthday, and hope that she and her fathers did not allow this unfortunate occurrence to ruin their celebration. Eat some cake for us!
