Warner Bros. has just made a charitable (and historic) donation to the Smithsonian, 30 Hollywood film artifacts. These pieces date from between 1942 and 2005 and join the likes of Judy Garland’s iconic ruby red slippers in the museum’s permanent entertainment collection.

Among the relics being donated are the mask George Clooney wore as Batman, the puppets from Corpse Bride, and Christopher Reeves’ costume from Superman III.

In the wake of the donation, the Smithsonian will begin its 2013 Classic Film Festival series, which was made possible by Warner Bros. In recognition of Women’s History Month, the films of Bette Davis will be featured.

Are you planning to check out the museum’s new acquisitions?
