Myst TV Series Is Coming To Hulu

The iconic 90s PC game Myst has reportedly been picked up for a television series by streaming service Hulu.

The best selling PC game of the 90s, Myst, is coming back to screens in a big way.

According to reports, a TV series based on the 1991 hit PC point and click adventure game Myst is being produced for Hulu by Legendary Television. Early indications are that the series will explore the origins of Myst Island.

There are already names rumored to be attached to the project, with reports stating that Evan Daugherty, whose writing credits include Divergent and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will pen the script with The Amazing Spider-Man franchise’s Matt Tolmach producing.
The Myst series has spawned its own mythology so this program will have no shortage of source material to pull from. Indeed, if it is to be used as an origin story, this observer would have to assume that it will be drawing inspiration from the Myst novels, specifically The Book of Atrus which served as a backstory for Atrus, one of the main characters throught the Myst series.

Readers, this is exciting news. Myst has lived on through the years in a number of sequels, novels, and in the hearts of its fans. There is even a yearly con for diehard fans of the series called MYSTerium.

Also if you couldn’t tell there is a very real chance that your author is a Myst fanboy complete with a Rivenese tattoo. As such I will be one amongst many waiting with baited breath for more details on this project.
