Nathan Filion won’t be roaming the galaxy in a Firefly-class space ship this summer, but he will be appearing in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
After much speculation, director James Gunn finally confirmed the Castle star’s involvement in the interstellar adventure via a tweet.
Before Gunn’s announcement, fans thought that Fillion was slated for the role of the mysterious baddie Thanos. Alas, it is not so. It was revealed this spring that Josh Brolin would be playing the god-like villain.
Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro will join Brolin and Fillion in the film.
So who exactly is Fillion playing? We’ll have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters August 1 to find out!
