Last week, Glee show runner Ryan Murphy spoke out on ending the hit Fox series next season and one of its biggest stars is prepared for it to end.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Glee would be renewed for two more seasons, this season and next year’s season 6. It was unclear as to whether or not it would go on beyond that, but at an event held at the Paley Center, Murphy confirmed that season 6 would be the final year of the show. “The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end,” he said. However, the passing of the beloved Cory Monteith has changed the direction of that ending. Now they’re on their way to figuring out how to end the series while honoring Monteith as well.

Naya Rivera, whose character, Santana started in the background and moved to the forefront in the past few years, seems to be prepared for the ending. At Elle’s 20th Annual Women in Hollywood celebration, Rivera commented on how proud and grateful she is to be part of the Glee family. “I think we’ve had a really good run on the show. I think that all good things must come to an end, so whenever that comes to an end, I’ll just be grateful that I was even on it,” she told Access Hollywood.

In another interview with E! Online, Rivera also commented on the possibility of having a spin-off for Santana Lopez. “She can do anything.” Only time will tell.

Spin-off or no spin-off, seeing the show end will definitely be bittersweet for all of the Gleeks around the world. Glee has made a huge positive impact on many people, but like Rivera said, “all good things must come to an end.”
