The new season of NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice is quickly approaching and we now know who will be acting as mentors for judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Cher and Ryan Tedder will be joining the upcoming season of the hit reality show. The pair will be joining previously announced Ed Sheeran and Miguel in the battle rounds of the contest. Cher will be working with Blake Shelton who has won the past 3 previous seasons of the competition (talk about two different music genres joining forces), while producer and lead singer of the band One Republic Ryan Tedder will mentor Adam Levine’s contestants on his team.
Miguel will be helping Cee-Lo Green’s contestants on his team and Ed Sheeran will be mentoring Christina Aguliera’s teammates. “This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams,” NBC’s Paul Telegdy announced. “I know Christina, Adam, Cee-Lo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard.”
Cher, who performed her latest single “Woman’s World” on the season four finale of the show has said in the past that she would have auditioned for The Voice if something like that was around when she an aspiring singer.
Some of the previous mentors that have appeared on The Voice include Hillary Scott (singer of country-group Lady Antebellum), Pharrell Williams, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Robin Thicke, Michael Buble, Alanis Morisette, and Billie Joel Armstrong.
