Apparently some books are better left on the shelf, as it appears Dame Angela Lansbury wasn’t the only one who thought the Murder, She Wrote reboot NBC was planning was a mistake.
It was just announced that the project has been dropped, according to TheWrap. Lansbury wasn’t too thrilled at the prospects of a remake, calling the project a “mistake” when it was first announced.
“I think it’s a mistake to call it Murder, She Wrote,” Lansbury said, “because Murder, She Wrote will always be about a Cabot Cove and this wonderful little group of people who told those lovely stories and enjoyed a piece of that place, and also enjoyed Jessica Fletcher, who is a rare and very individual kind of person.”
Lansbury starred in the original series for 12 seasons, which earned her four Golden Globe wins, with a total of ten Golden Globe nominations, and 12 Emmy Awards for the show.
The reboot was set to star Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, but it looks like it will be a murder she won’t be writing anytime soon.
