The master is back, everyone! It was announced on Wednesday (Oct. 15) that Neil Patrick Harris will be the host of Hollywood’s biggest night, the 87th Academy Awards.
This announcement is even more exciting when you consider that Harris will now have completed the holy trinity of showbiz awards, having hosted the Tony Awards four times, and the Emmy Awards twice.
Harris, one of Hollywood’s most talented performers, goes beyond a triple threat – not only can he sing, dance and act, he is also incredibly charming and unbelievably hilarious. He appeals to all demographics with his infectious charm and natural ability to simply entertain, which is all the more reason for him to host the entertainment world’s biggest event.
Harris previously appeared in 2010, performing the opening number for the 82nd Academy Awards. However, that ceremony was hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
The 87th Academy Awards will air on February 22nd.
