Netflix Announces When We’ll Be Returning to Las Encinas for Season 3 of ‘Elite’

The police force in Spain must not be doing their job because it looks like we’re heading back to Las Encinas for the third time.

It was not so long ago that Netflix released the second season of their hit teen drama Elite, back in September 2019. The show follows the privileged teens living in Spain who attend the elite private school Las Encinas. The first season follows the mystery surrounding the murder of one of their classmates. While, the second season follows the disappearance of another one of their classmates. Given that we are getting a third season, one can only assume that tragedy has struck once again with these troubled teens.

Only five months after releasing the second season, Netflix has announced that it will be returning for a third season on March 13, 2020. The return only marks only 6 months between seasons 2 and 3 unlike the year gap between the first and second season. Fans will only have to wait a few more weeks to find out the fate of Polo after he was arrested for Marina’s murder at the end of the second season.

For the announcement of the release date, Netflix released a teaser trailer. While the trailer doesn’t show us much besides a quick shot of each of the characters, there are a few things we can take away from it. First, there appears to be two new characters being add to the mix. According to the Elite official Instagram, these two new characters are named Yeray and Malick. Not much is known about them so far, but by looking at some promo pictures, it seems they will be closely tied to Carla’s storyline.

The other thing worth noticing from the trailer, is the lack of the characters of Christian and Nano. It seems as if we won’t be seeing these characters in the upcoming season as both of their characters flew the coop at the end of season 2 (and with good reason) and they are nowhere to be found in the teaser trailer. Considering both actors are involved with the popular Netflix show La Casa de Papel, their absence might have to do with their commitment to that show.

Check out the teaser trailer here.
