New Art For Digimon Sequel Series ‘Digimon Adventure Tri’

The upcoming anime sequel series to Digimon, titled Digimon Adventure tri released additional character art featuring Matt and his companion Gabumon.

We’re getting closer Digimon fans!

The upcoming issue of Shueisha’s V Jump is publishing a look at fan-favorite Digi Destined Matt and Gabumon for the upcoming sequel to the original Digimon series. The series, currently called Digimon Adventure Tri also recently released an image of the complete digi-destined group without their Digimon companions. Yuuko Kakihara, who wrote for Kids On The Slope, is slated to contribute to screenplays for an unknown amount of episodes, and the art for the upcoming anime is by Tsuritama artist Atsuya Uki.

Digimon Adventure Tri will continue six years after the original anime’s story, and three years after Digimon Adventure 02, focusing on only the original digi-destined core ensemble. The series is currently aimed to release in Japan as early as April of this year; If you don’t have the patience (like myself…) head over to the Digimon Adventure website where you can interact to get exclusive early looks at the series.

Fingers crossed the original English voice cast can return when the series is eventually dubbed! (You know it has to happen)
