More details on the new Diagon Alley portion of Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter have been revealed.

“We are in the process of an historic expansion at Universal Orlando and there are more entertainment options than before,” said Mike West, executive producer at Universal Creative speaking at a press conference at the World Travel Market.

West officially announced that the new area, which will be Diagon Alley and ‘London’, will include a Leaky Cauldron restaurant and a new indoor coaster attraction based on Gringotts Bank.

Curently, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter allows guests to experience Hogwarts and Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. The new area will be set in the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is adjacent to Islands of Adventure.

One of the most exciting parts of this new experience is that guests will be able to travel between parks as if travelling between ‘London’ and Hogsmeade Village aboard a fully functioning Hogwarts Express.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley will open in the summer of 2014.
