Whovians, the wait….well, the wait has an expiration date. I’d like to report the wait is over, but it looks like it will be a while until we find out who will play the Doctor following Matt Smith’s departure from Doctor Who.
Digital Spy reports that Doctor Who‘s new lead actor will be announced in the fall.
The BBC drama will begin filming its Christmas Special in August or early September. Matt Smith’s replacement will be confirmed just before filming starts.
Earlier this month it was reported that Smith who plays the Eleventh Doctor would be leaving the show by the end of 2013.
Actors liked Domhnall Gleeson, Dominic Cooper, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Rory Kinnear and Ben Daniels have been mentioned as contenders for his replacement.
