The Roommates Are Forced To Get A “Landline” On This Week’s New Girl

This week’s episode of New Girl featured something we all know and love: a landline. (that love part was sarcasm.)

The gang has to get a landline because there is a new building going in next door, blockiong the signal for their phones, making the gang unable to talk to work, their mom, or whoever.

Since the entire group, except Nick, works during the day, and because Nick feels separated from his friends, he begins to take their messages.

As you can imagine, this is extremely bad for Winston and Schmidt, the two friends Nick has been taking messages for.

At first it’s just Nick prying into their business, but it quickly escalates. Nick breaks up with a girl for Winston! Talk about probing into someone’s life! On top of that, Nick sends a drunken picture of Schmidt into a magazine that wants to interview him!

After all this, Nick realizes that he just loves answering the phones, so he applies for a secretary position, although we don’t see much more than the company calling him back.

Because of Nick probing into the guys’ lives, they decide to invest in an answering machine, which, of course, irritates Nick, who neglects to tell Schmidt that the magazine had called, wanting to interview him. He does tell Winston, who as we found out, is smooth on the phone regardless of his awkwardness in person, and Winston does the interview for Schmidt.

On the other side of the fence, Jess is trying to talk to her staff about the fraternization policy, owing to the fact that Coach has now slept with two different teachers.

There’s only one problem with her no fraternization policy: there’s a new teacher in school, and boy is he attractive. Some of us know him as Prince Phillip from Once Upon a Time.

Of course, Jess is attracted to him, and when she tries to show the staff a way of saying ‘No’ (to any staff who may be trying to flirt, etc.) she touches his penis.

SHE TOUCHES HIM. Yep. While telling her staff not to sleep with others.

Sadly, the show ends with the principal telling her that the teachers can do whatever they want, but unfortunately the two of them, as administrators, cannot.

I was really hoping they would hook up, too.

Well, what did you guys think? Did you want to her get with Ryan or should she stick it out for Nick? Let me know in the comments!
