Fresh off the back of the FOX panel at this year’s Comic Con, new images released today (July 16) have given fans a first proper look at the new mutants added to the X-Men: Apocalypse cast.
First up, there’s Alexandra Shipp as a younger STORM, who when discovered by Apocalypse in the new movie, can’t control the weather she (as we all know) goes on to manage so well in later years.
Then there’s Lana Condor in the role of JUBILEE. The word itself is vibrant and fun, so it might not be much of a surprise to learn her gift is to unleash bursts of colourful energy.
Taking on the role of a young CYCLOPS is Tye Sheridan, and it is in this new film that his romance with Jean Grey (see below) begins. The romance is one of three featured.
Kodi-Smit-McPhee, probably best known for his role opposite Viggo Mortensen in The Road, is NIGHTCRAWLER (and no, for those thinking of the film which goes by the same name, he doesn’t go around photographing car crashes and whatnot). This teleporter finds himself rescued by Raven.
Finally, Sansa Stark, sorry, I mean Sophie Turner, takes on the part of JEAN GREY, love interest of Cyclops. and scared of her telepathic abilities. From the outset, and throughout the film franchise, she’s thought very highly of by Charles Xavier.
Also released were set photos and promo images which offer our first good look at Psylocke and Apocalypse. Check those out in the gallery below.
