Gravity, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, kicked off the Venice International Film Festival last Wednesday and its new promotional poster features George Clooney.

Clooney plays a character name Matt Kowalsky, a veteran astronaut on a shuttle mission gone wrong. The movie chronicles Kowalsky and Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock). The two scientists clash with clearly different personalities – a veteran headed for retirement vs. a medical researcher on her first space mission. After their space shuttle is destroyed, they are tethered together and must find a way to survive in open space.
The 3D space thriller is a much anticipated project from award-winning director Alfonso Cuarón, who is known for directing Y tu mamá también and the Academy Award nominated film Children of Men. The film is also set to have a special presentation at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
Gravity releases in the US on October 4 and in the UK on November 8. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the gut-wrenching trailer.
