With fascination in the royal family intensifying over the past few years, Fox has decided to capitalize on the phenomenon by creating a reality show in which 12 American women will have the chance to compete for Prince Harry’s hand in marriage.
The catch? It’s completely fake.
The premise of the show, titled I Wanna Marry “Harry,” has the female contestants believing that Prince Harry is genuinely interested in finding a potential bride among them. Filming has already wrapped on the show and producers were able to keep the secret under wraps so the contestants wouldn’t become suspicious.
Prince Harry is played by an impersonator who looks very similar to the red-headed royal and in a bachelor style format, he will entertain the courtships of the women trying to impress him.
All 12 of the contestants were flown from America to live in the Englefield House in Berkshire as filming took place.
In real life, it looks as though the actual Prince is close to proposing to long-time girlfriend Cressida Bonas. Prince Harry has a reputation of being a bit of a practical joker, so something tells me he won’t have any qualms about the Ryan Seacrest-produced show going forward to series.
