The first trailer has been released for the new series of The X Factor UK and with all the changes, it promises one of the biggest shake-ups the show has seen since it started in 2004.
Gone are Louis Walsh, previously the only judge to have lasted all eleven series, and Mel B, the former Spice Girl and resident loudmouth. They are replaced by Nick Grimshaw, BBC Radio 1 DJ, and Rita Ora, the singer and former The Voice UK coach, who head judge Simon Cowell hopes will bring in a younger audience.
The presenting team has also changed, although this one’s not quite so drastic. Previous Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs have been promoted to the main show while Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom are taking over the reins of the sister show. Even legendary voiceover man Peter Dickson is gone!
There will also be differences in the audition episodes, live judges houses and both live performances and results show due to air the same night.
These drastic shake-ups are said to be an attempt to boost flagging ratings and challenge rival Strictly Come Dancing, which has seen a surge in popularity in recent years.
The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday 29th August. Have a look:
