A new UK trailer for the film, The Book Thief, has been released today.
The film, an adaptation from Markus Zusak’s award-winning novel of the same name, stars Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and Sophie Nélisse.
Set in Munich during World War II, the film tells the story of a young girl, Liesel Meminger (Nélisse) who once the Nazis start burning books, starts stealing them to prevent their destruction. Rush and Watson play her foster parents who have taken in a Jewish refugee (Ben Schnetzer) who they are hiding under their stairs.
Downton Abbey’s Brian Percival directed the film.
The Book Thief opens in US cinemas on November 8 followed by the UK on January 31.
